integrative housing

the main goal in this study was to creat an apartment building to advantage the elderly. the facility is composed of several “households” which consist of three flats that are connected by a small courtyard: two large and one small flat for a senior.

the arrangement should bring neighbours together which would otherwise live anonymous side by side. it is also ment to stimulate collaborations between residents so seniors can find new duties and responsibilities within the communities. e.g. like babysitting or housework.

as a response to the layout of the parcel and the high number of apartments, the green space was moved on top, containing playgrounds, gardens and barbecue places.
